I spent half of 2009 as a Ford Fiesta Agent!
What does that mean? I'll tell ya. To help raise awareness for the release of the 2011 US Ford Fiesta, Ford held a competition to choose 100 connected & savvy folks to drive the European version of the Ford Fiesta for six months.
I created a video entry for the competition and was chosen to be one of the lucky hundred! Free car, including insurance and unlimited gas for six whole months! All I had to do was complete one mission each month and upload a video about each experience.
When I won, I had just received my first driver's license EVER at the age of 35. I had only driven a couple hundred miles total. In the time that I had the Fiesta, I drove over 40,000 miles! As a Fiesta agent I made four cross-country trips, eloped in Tennessee, drove on the Bristol Motor Speedway, rafted on the Class V+ rapids of the Gauley, took an improv class at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in LA, recreated a scene from National Lampoon's Vacation in the Fiesta, volunteered with the Special Olympics, and met hundreds of new friends!
In other words, I had a pretty good time.
